Welcome to Luke's Website!

Welcome to my website on competitive swimming! You can learn all the important things about competitive swimming right here.

Things that you will learn here:

  1. Basic Imformation about the 4 strokes.

  2. All about how we train.

  3. How you can become a swimmer.

But first! Here is some important background information.

  1. In competitive swimming, the pool is either 25 yards or 50 meters long.

  2. 25 yard pools are used during "short-course" season and 50 meter pools are used for the long-course.

  3. Not all events are available to all ages in meets. Swimmers will usually not be allowed to swim 25s once they turn 10, and then not be allowed to swim 50s (except for 50 free) after they turn 13.

  4. IM - Individual Medley: an event where all 4 strokes are swam in the same event (200 IM = 50 butterfly, 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke, 50 freestyle).
